Working with Children Checks

A Working With Children Check (called a Blue Card in Queensland, and a Working With Vulnerable People Check in the ACT and Tasmania), which we’ll refer to as a WWCC, is a legal requirement for all people in Australia who work or volunteer with children and is also a requirement for all Au Pairs

The WWCC/Blue Card/WWVPC are requirements of state/territory-based legislation, so please refer to the information provided below for the relevant state or territory.

While the specifics of each state/territory vary, each successful Working With Children Check application provides the applicant with a photo ID card, after checking national criminal history and other relevant background history, and is valid for several years. Successful applicants are subject to ongoing monitoring and relevant new records may lead to the clearance being revoked.
